"Before you can investigate the sabotage, you must become part of the world. Build your trainee identity — the industry is watching, and so is the saboteur."
Mission 01 · This Is Your Mission If You Choose to Accept It
Watch the full mission briefing below. Your assignment: create your K-Pop trainee identity using AI tools — avatar, poster, and team name — before the 10th Anniversary Season live broadcast begins.
Choose Your Path · Scoring Options
Bonus Opportunities
Begin by creating your own personal K-Pop trainee identity. Decide on your style, look, and personality as an idol. You may upload a photo of yourself to transform into an idol, or describe the features, outfit, colors, and vibe you want. Choose whether your avatar looks realistic, cartoon-like, anime-inspired, or even part of a fantasy K-Pop world like demon hunters.
Once finished, save and download your avatar to use in your poster. You will post this to Instagram and introduce your character. Follow @topkpopio on Instagram — your post will be reviewed by Top K-Pop executives and accepted.
Use ChatGPT (or Gemini) to create your K-Pop trainee avatar. This is your personal idol character for the entire game.
Think about who you want to be as a K-Pop trainee. Choose your style: cute, fierce, elegant, noir, cyberpunk, demon-hunter, glam, or realistic.
Pick ONE of the following methods:
1. Upload a photo of yourself to turn into an idol
2. Describe your appearance (hair, skin tone, ethnicity, clothing, colors, vibe)
3. Describe a themed version (anime idol, K-Pop demon hunter, gemstone glam, neon street idol)
Use a sentence like:
"ChatGPT, create my trainee avatar. I want a [style] idol with [hair], [clothing], [colors], and a [vibe]."
Or, if you upload your photo, say:
"ChatGPT, turn this photo of me into a K-Pop idol version of myself."
Look at your avatar and decide if you want changes. You can ask ChatGPT to adjust: hair — lighting — outfit — pose — expression — style (realistic, anime, illustrated, dramatic, etc.)
Once you are happy with how you look, save this final version. This avatar will be used in your K-Pop Idol Poster.
Sharing your avatar with the TopKpop.io community earns +25 bonus points. You choose how much privacy you want — all four options count equally.
The @topkpopio Instagram account is a private page — only people playing the game can see it. Posts shared there are visible only to approved followers (other participants and the admin). It is not a public page. Think of it as the game's private community board.
Create a brand-new Instagram account using your K-Pop idol stage name — for example, @kpopmom, @detectivejin, or @neonsleuths. This keeps your real personal account completely separate. You post as your idol character, not as yourself.
How to set it up:
1. Open Instagram → tap your profile icon → tap Add account → tap Create new account
2. Use your K-Pop idol stage name as the username
3. Use any email address (a new one or your existing one — Instagram allows multiple accounts per email)
4. Set the account to Private in Settings so only approved followers can see your posts
5. Follow @topkpopio from your new account and request to follow — we will follow your persona account back, and you approve our follow request
6. Post your avatar and tag @topkpopio in your post with #TopKpopSleuth
7. Paste your post URL into the submission form to claim your +25 pts
Post your avatar directly on your real Instagram account. Tag @topkpopio and use #TopKpopSleuth. Your post will be visible to your own followers. Follow @topkpopio to access the private game community page. Paste your post URL into the submission form.
Don't want to post publicly at all? That's fine. Simply follow @topkpopio on Instagram, then send a Direct Message (DM) to @topkpopio with your avatar image and your team name: “Trove 01 bonus — [Team Name]”. No post needed. The admin will award your +25 pts after reviewing the DM. In the submission form, write “DM sent to @topkpopio” in the Instagram URL field.
Prefer to skip Instagram entirely? You can submit your avatar and poster directly through the submission portal on this website. No Instagram account required. Note: the +25 Instagram bonus points are only awarded for Options A, B, or C. All other scoring (Oracle rubric points) are the same regardless of which option you choose.
Include in your caption:
– Your trainee stage name
– Your idol skills (singing, dancing, rap, visual, etc.)
– Your super sleuth ability (clue decoder, evidence spotter, strategist)
You may ask ChatGPT: "Write my Instagram caption introducing my K-Pop idol character named [name]."
After completing your trainee avatar, create your K-Pop Idol Group Poster using AI. This is your team's official debut announcement image.
After completing your trainee avatar, create your K-Pop Idol Poster using your favorite AI (e.g. ChatGPT, Gemini). Choose or upload a dramatic background location — such as a beach, neon street, theater, or famous landmark — and place your avatar into the scene. If you are working with a team, include up to four avatars total. Add concert lights, neon effects, sparkles, and a cinematic title to complete the look. Your final poster should showcase your idol character in a high-energy K-Pop performance moment.
Select a dramatic or meaningful location for your poster. You may upload a real photo (beach, backyard, living room, school hallway), a famous landmark (Eiffel Tower, pyramids, Seoul street), or ask ChatGPT to generate a background for you.
Upload your own trainee avatar. If you are in a team, also upload every team member's avatar so all can be included in the same group poster. If you are working individually, you may upload any additional characters you want to include in your idol group (up to 4 total).
Describe the vibe you want for your poster — neon concert energy, glamorous comeback stage, fierce detective mood, beach performance, fantasy K-Pop theme, etc. ChatGPT will blend your characters naturally into the scene using K-Pop lighting, sparkles, beams, and stage effects.
Make sure your poster has a title, a short tagline, and your idol group name so they can be added in cinematic metallic text. The tagline must include Spanish or Korean phrasing.
Look at the poster ChatGPT generates and request any changes you want — lighting, color, positioning, expressions, or effects. Once you are satisfied, save your final K-Pop Idol Poster. Please feel free to pre-score your avatar and poster using the Oracle of the Rubric before submitting. Make any modifications prior to your final submission.
Same four options as the avatar. Choose the privacy level that works best for you — all options earn the same +25 pts.
Post from your K-Pop stage-name account (the one you set up in Task 1.b). Tag @topkpopio and use #TopKpopSleuth. Paste your post URL into the submission form.
Post your poster on your real account. Tag @topkpopio and use #TopKpopSleuth. Paste the post URL into the submission form.
DM your poster image directly to @topkpopio with your team name. Write "DM sent to @topkpopio" in the Instagram URL field on the submission form. The admin will award your points after reviewing the DM.
Upload your poster directly in the submission portal on this website. No Instagram needed. Note: the +25 Instagram bonus points apply only to Options A, B, or C.
Include your group name, poster theme, and each member's role. Ask ChatGPT:
"Write my Instagram caption introducing our K-Pop idol group poster. Group name: [name]. Theme: [theme]."
Oracle of the Rubric · Pre-Score Your Avatar & Poster
The criteria that the Oracle will use for scoring your avatar and poster are built into the rubric. Please make sure all 5 criteria are being addressed. Simply go to the Oracle of the Rubric and upload your avatar and poster (two files) and get your score. Please feel free to make modifications prior to submitting your final work to the portal. Once you submit to the portal, you cannot make further adjustments.
Open Oracle of the Rubric →⚠ Practice scores are coaching estimates. Your official score is generated at submission and may differ slightly — the submission Oracle applies the full rubric at evaluation standard.
Official Submission · Trove 01
Submit your final avatar, poster (if applicable), and team name through the official submission portal. This is your one official submission for Trove 01 — once submitted, this Trove is locked. Use the Oracle above to refine your work before submitting.
Go to Submission Portal →Instagram · @topkpopio Community Page
The @topkpopio Instagram page is private — only game participants can see it. Mission videos, clue drops, and evidence posts are shared there when each Trove opens. We recommend following so you don't miss any clues.
Following is optional but encouraged. You can participate fully and earn all rubric points using the website alone (Option D). The +25 bonus points are awarded for sharing your work via Instagram (Options A, B, or C).

I know this investigation inside and out. Ask me anything about the game — how to register, who is eligible, how to play, where to submit, what the Oracle is looking for, or how scoring works. I'm here to help. Just don't ask me who the saboteur is.
